The older a soft top surfboard is the more slippery it gets, which makes it harder to ride the wave.
Often times people fall down pretty quickly off those boards because they slip. That’s not fun at all! Imagine you do your best and you try again and again but you just can’t succeed because the board is too slippery. That is pretty frustrating, right?
The design of the board. A stripe in the middle oft the board will especially help beginner surfers to learn the right position to put their feet in.

The position where you stand on your board is very important. Wrong positioning causes you to fall down, your board to nose dive or getting stuck on the wave.
Right positioning which allows you to ride the wave:
Your feet are in the middle line of your board and you stand in the center of your board (not too far in the front or in the back)
